mrc Press Release
mrc offers new and improved executive dashboards
October 2010 Lombard, IL - Today, software developer mrc announces a couple of m-Power enhancements which dramatically
improve executive dashboards.
m-Power is
software that modernizes legacy applications and rapidly creates web applications such as report-writing, business intelligence, executive
dashboards, e-commerce, customer portals, and wireless applications to name a few.
An executive dashboard is usually a
portal or intranet page that brings a variety of metrics (KPI – Key performance indicators) together on one
screen for a live overview of business operations. They let executives make quick, but well-informed decisions.
mrc recently upgraded m-Power's WYSIWYG editor, m-Painter, with two new features: The import panel and the widget panel. These new panels improve
executive dashboards in a few different ways:
- Dashboards are easier to create: The new import panel provides a wizard-like approach for importing applications and creating dashboards. The new panel also lets users edit their graphs and tables before importing them into a dashboard.
- Dashboards are more customizable: The new widget panel lets users customize their dashboards with a few different page layouts. Additionally, the end user can re-structure their dashboard layout for optimal readability using simple drag-and-drop.
- Dashboards are interactive: Most executive dashboards display static graphs, charts, or tables. Using m-Power's new dashboards, end users dictate how much or how little information gets displayed. They can choose to display all data or select filters built into the dashboard to view narrow slices of their data.
"A good dashboard is one that lets users easily see any aspect of their business and make informed decisions based on that data," says Brian Crowley, mrc's Director of Development. "These new enhancements do just that--users now have more control over their dashboards, and even better yet, easier access to their data."
