Say goodbye to email attachments. mrc introduces the upload feature
August 2008 Lombard, IL - Today, software tool developer mrc announces new upload capabilities
for m-Power, a development software tool suite for modernization
and rapid creation of custom business Web applications. Using this new feature, m-Power users can create
applications that will upload files directly to their server.
"We are excited to provide this functionality to our customers," says Brian Crowley, mrc's Director of
Development. "Uploading eliminates the need for inferior file transfer options, such as email.
Even though email is the most common file transfer option, it is not secure and usually comes with size
restrictions. m-Power users can now bypass the hassles of email attachments,
and quickly build upload functionality directly into their applications."
Here are some examples of how uploading could be used:
- An auto insurer could allow customers to upload photos and claim documents electronically, taking much of the hassle out of filing a claim.
- A magazine could let advertisers upload their artwork online, instead of using email or cds shipped through regular mail.
- A shipping company could let their customers upload pictures of damaged shipments, allowing them to handle any problems quickly.
"The possibilities are really very wide", adds Crowley. "As our customer base spans many industries, we are interested to see the different ways this new functionality will be used."
