Secondly, I’d like to congratulate this year’s winner of the mrc Giveaway: Michael Bennett! Michael will soon be the proud owner of a brand new iPad Mini! Thank you for all those that entered the giveaway this year, and make sure you stay tuned right here for the 2014 Giveaway, which will be announced in early-mid 2014.

New and improved Thanksgiving football app!

ThanksgivingDid you know that despite playing every Thanksgiving, the Detroit Lions haven’t won a Thanksgiving game since 2003? Or, did you know that the Jaguars and Panthers are the only teams to have never played on Thanksgiving? Or, that the Bengals and Buccaneers are the only teams to have played, yet never won, on Thanksgiving?

Why am I sharing Thanksgiving Football stats? Well, to celebrate the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday, we’re combining two of our favorite things: Web app development and football! We’ve taken our Thanksgiving Football app that we built with m-Power last year and made it even better!

For example, not only can you find the results of every game and the win/loss percentage of every team, we’ve also added a ranking report and a voting section. The ranking report lets you generate reports that rank teams by wins, losses, and winning percentage. The voting section lets you predict who will win this year’s games.

One more thing: It’s also available as a tablet and smartphone mobile web app. If you access the web app from any mobile device, it will recognize the device you’re using and display the appropriate presentation layer. To learn more about how m-Power handles mobile apps, you can check out this page.

Sound good? If you want to check it out, you can find the app right here. Make sure you vote on this year’s games!

Finally, from all of us here at mrc, we wish you safe travels and a very happy Thanksgiving!

Secondly, as 2012 draws to a close, I thought I’d try something new. Rather than recap what I thought were the most useful articles, I’d like to share the posts that you found most interesting over the past year.

With that goal in mind, I took a look back at the past year and identified the 10 most popular posts of 2012, as determined by the readers of this blog. These are the posts that attracted the most attention (and often the most debate) over the last 12 months. I hope you find them interesting:

1. Hybrid vs. Native vs. Web app comparison chart
Does your company want mobile apps? You must first answer one question: Do we want native, hybrid, or mobile web apps? What’s the difference, or…more importantly, which is better? This post provides an easy-to-read comparison chart for each mobile development method. It compares the main differences, advantages, and disadvantages of each. Continue reading
