PopUp Dialog

This enhancement gives developers yet another way to call secondary windows from their web applications. The most common use for this feature is to call this modal window to modify a given record. When completed, the developer has full control to decide if the original page should refresh or redirect elsewhere.

This very exciting enhancement allows you to easily add your own AJAX functionality into any web application. AJAX allows your end-user to interact with the database server without refreshing the page. This behavior allows for a much more seamless experience. mrc is excited to announce the ability for developers to alter tables directly within the m-Power interface! Developers are authorized to modify any table that was created within m-Power. To access this feature, click Admin -> Registered Tables -> and click the "Alter Table" icon.

mrc is thrilled to announce the latest m-Power template, the OLAP Pivot Report. Developers and users will love the ability to total columns and rows, all the while having the additional functionality to choose row and column dimensions on the fly and drilling down to explore more detail. New Standard Numeric Formats with Parentheses
|
| |
Two new standard Numeric Format codes have been added to the m-Power interface. The new codes display parentheses around negative numbers, with either blanks or zeroes displayed for zero values. These new Numeric Formats have been added to all format code dropdown selections.

Ranking Report with Graph Template

This new reporting template is specialized for creating Business Intelligence Reporting. It provides a flexible structure for ranking the top and bottom dimensions based on a single measure. Google Maps Feature

Using m-Painter's new Insert Map icon, you can display any address data using the Google Maps Service. The Maps Panel walks you through setting the parameters (center point, zoom level, address field, hover data, etc.) This is useful in a variety of applications, including displaying a map of retail stores where your company's products can be purchased. m-Painter Runtime Calculation Panel

This simplifies the process of adding/editing calculated fields within the HTML screen painting. End users can position their cursor for the new calc, click the Runtime Calculation toolbar icon, and point-and-click their calculation attributes in place.

This simplifies the process of adding/editing imported applications in the HTML screen painting. End users can position their cursor for the imported app, click the Import Panel toolbar icon, and point-and-click their import application info into a simple form.

Grid Update Maintenance Template

As it sounds, it allows maintenance directly on a grid of records with the ability to update/delete multiple records at once. It is a very powerful new template. It has all of the features of the Work-With Maintainer you'd expect (except the ability to insert records.) This template makes it a breeze to create powerful, user-friendly interfaces for maintaining data.

Numeric Pattern Design

The Edit Code is replaced with more intuitive Numeric Pattern for the formatting of numeric fields. The drop-down list now shows an example of the field rendered. For an even more precise display, use the hover feature which displays an exact rendering of the current field using the accurate field length and decimal positions to see how the value will be displayed as a positive value, as a negative value, and as zero.

This enhancement allows developers greater flexibility to schedule summaries & reports. The jobs can be run on demand or scheduled with the built-in scheduler or third-party scheduler. The reports can be sent to a directory for Web serving/archiving or emailed to recipients in various Web formats. Additionally, this enhancement allows you to specify the run order of applications.

This enhancement allows mrc-Productivity Series customers to copy an existing Data Dictionary to m-Power. They can choose to copy just table, field, and synonym information, or, if they elect, they can copy Application Specifications along with table/field/synonym information.

Ajax Hover SmartLink

Hover SmartLinks is the newest feature added to servlet applications which help to deliver a rich Web 2.0 experience to application users. When a user moves her mouse over a screen element like text or an image, a box appears to hover over the existing Web page to run an independent application. Users can also drill to view more information by repeatedly executing Hover SmartLinks. This technique makes it easier for the user to view more information without losing her browser original context. This feature employs AJAX and the popular Prototype JavaScript Framework for minimal logic and a bug-free experience, but, as always, those details are hidden from the mrc user.

Cascading Dropdown Lists for Report Prompting

Web 2.0 Reports allow your dropdown lists to be reliant on one another. Lets say you have a report where your end-user picks State, County, and City. At run time this will allow your users to select a state from a dropdown list. When they do, the dropdown list for counties and cities will refresh to show only the valid counties and cities for that state. Choosing a county will list all of the applicable cities for that particular county.
