Question: After downloading MRCCH from your website, I cannot seem to develop any Servlet maintenance applications, even though other Servlet applications are working fine. Instead, I get:
"java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError".
Why is this happening? |
Answer:
Some Web Application Servers like Apache Tomcat and IBM WebSphere put a "lock" on IFS files loaded into memory.
To successfully install new files on the IFS, it is important to end those servers before attempting to restore new IFS files to your system.**
**Before doing this, please consider that users will not be able to access applications while the Web Application Server is down.
If you use the mrc-supplied Tomcat, you can run these commands by going to the mrc main menu.
To go to the mrc main menu, type 'MRC'.
Press F7 to get a command line.
Type the following command to end the mrc-supplied version of Tomcat: 'MRCTOMCAT *END' and hit enter.
You will now need to restore the MRCCH again.
Before restoring it on your iSeries, end Apache Tomcat server (and/or IBM WebSphere server), restore MRCCH and restart the servers.
This problem affects only customers using Tomcat and/or WebSphere servers.
Please refer to our detailed download instructions before downloading any updates/fixes.
