    Hotline Question of the Month
    .

“I'm using the mrc Web/Servlet Security technique (mrcSignon.html and mrcSignon.xml) to protect my web applications.

The authentication works great, but my Sign-On page doesn't pick up the header and footer in the data dictionary directory that my applications use. Instead, it's picking up the originals.

I want a consistent look and feel. How can I change the Sign-On page to pickup the header and footer my applications use? ”

New and Improved: mrc (Customers Only)
    .

Because technology changes at such a fast pace, this newsletter feature has been added to keep our customers abreast of the latest updates/modifications to the mrc-Productivity Series.

This section is for customers only and is password-protected.

Here are the latest and greatest improvements and updates:
    • At V5R3, IBM changed a system API used to authenticate iSeries user profiles. VB client-server programs and Java Applets generated by mrc-Productivity Series will fail to pass the authentication process without this update. This update may be applied before or after moving to V5R3 to prevent logon authentication problems for those application types.
    • BED improvements: validation on conditional calculation entry, copy retrieval to report, improve Data Dictionary Work With Fields screen editing Preformat delete function to check if it is used in calc condition.
    • m-Power updates: retrieves file description for iSeries DB and handles file joins with synonyms. New template update: Import logic fixed for dashboard apps.
    General updates:

    • SmartLinks improved on Web/Servlet calendar
    • Improved way to import applications into reports.
    • Data Dictionary File Layout reporting improved.
    • Special filter logic added which can control the individual options for Java-based Maintenance applications
