Midland Medical built a B2B e-commerce Web site in Java servlets and ran it on Linux served from an old PC.
What started out as an IT experiment three months ago for this medical supply distributor (with a set-up cost of $500-$1000) has just taken in an unexpected and whopping $100,000 in online sales for last month alone, with online sales projections in the millions.
