Because legacy applications need more maintenance, they often tie up 70-80% of an IT budget. <\/p>\n<p>Think about that. If you\u2019re spending 80% of your budget maintaining the status quo, how can you ever move forward? It\u2019s like riding a stationary bike. You peddle and peddle, but never get anywhere.  <\/p>\n<h3>2. Legacy systems waste your time<\/h3>\n<p>Over time, applications and systems become more complex. Every customization and change adds another layer of complexity to the system. Maintaining these applications only becomes more difficult and time-consuming the older they get.<\/p>\n<p>What does that mean? You want the modern features, but you\u2019re tied to outdated technology.
