{"id":12013,"date":"2022-10-17T16:33:05","date_gmt":"2022-10-17T21:33:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mrc-productivity.com\/docs\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=12013"},"modified":"2022-10-18T15:09:03","modified_gmt":"2022-10-18T20:09:03","slug":"transferring-m-power-licenses","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.mrc-productivity.com\/docs\/knowledge-base\/transferring-m-power-licenses","title":{"rendered":"Transferring Licenses"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This documentation will provide explanation on how m-Power Customers may initiate an m-Power or mrc-Productivity Series license transfer via their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrc-productivity.com\/mrcjava\/servlet\/CUSTPORTAL.I00001s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Customer Portal<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the IP address of a <strong>licensed <\/strong>database used in m-Power will be changing, these steps must be followed in order to request a new m-Power license. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-info\">The m-Power software is only licensed to database(s) you <strong>develop<\/strong> against. m-Power <strong>does not<\/strong> license against databases that are connected to solely in a production environment. Therefore, production-only databases <strong>do not <\/strong>ever need to be transferred should their IP address change. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alternatively, if you are an mrc-Productivity Series (green screen) customer and are moving iSeries machines, these steps must also be followed in order to request a new mrc-PS license.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1- Request License Transfer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Log into the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrc-productivity.com\/mrcjava\/servlet\/CUSTPORTAL.I00001s\">m-Power Customer Portal<\/a>. Once in, navigate to Account Overview and select <strong>Request License Transfer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/docs\/images\/custportal\/sla_transfer1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Figure 1: <a href=\"\/mrcjava\/servlet\/CUSTPORTAL.I00005s\">Account Overview<\/a> screen in the m-Power Customer Portal<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-alert\">Note that this option, as highlighted in Figure 1, will only be visible to portal users who are m-Power administrators. If you are not seeing this option, please email <a href=\"mailto:support@mrc-productivity.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">support@mrc-productivity.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following screen to appear will list out all currently licensed databases for your m-Power software. Any customers who are also licensed to the mrc-Productivity Series platform (green screen) will also have their iSeries listed machine listed. Depending on if you are transferring your m-Power license or mrc-PS license, the request process will be slightly different:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">m-Power License Transfers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For customers who want to transfer an m-Power license, press &#8220;Transfer&#8221; on the appropriate database whose IP address will be changing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/docs\/images\/custportal\/sla_transfer2.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Figure 2. Selecting an m-Power license, in the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"\/mrcjava\/servlet\/CUSTPORTAL.I00255s\" target=\"_blank\">Request License Transfer<\/a> app.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Once a database has been selected, the following information (refer to Figure 3) must be filled out to correctly process the transfer request:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Database IP<\/li><li>Database Type<\/li><li>Database Description<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Typically the Database Type will remain the same, as will the Database Description.  However the new IP address the database will be transferred to must be specified, ensuring to <strong>exclude<\/strong> any port numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/docs\/images\/custportal\/sla_transfer3.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Figure 3. Transferring an m-Power license<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">mrc-Productivity Series License Transfer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For customers who want to transfer an mrc-PS license, press &#8220;Transfer&#8221; on the appropriate iSeries machine that is being transferred. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/docs\/images\/custportal\/sla_transfer5.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Figure 4. Selecting an mrc-PS license in the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"\/mrcjava\/servlet\/CUSTPORTAL.I00255s\" target=\"_blank\">Request License Transfer<\/a> app.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Once selected, the following information (refer to Figure 5) must be obtained from the new iSeries machine in order to correctly process the transfer request:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Model #<\/li><li>Serial #<\/li><li>Feature (Processor) Code<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If uncertain on how to find these values, please hover over the appropriate question mark icon next to each input for further instruction, as shown in Figure 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/docs\/images\/custportal\/sla_transfer6.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Figure 5. Transferring an mrc-PS license<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2: Sign and upload new SLA<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon submitting the new license information, an email from support@mrc-productivity.com will be sent with a new m-Power Software License Agreement (SLA). The PDF in this email must be downloaded and signed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once signed, please scan the PDF and securely uploaded it via the linked application in the received email:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/docs\/images\/custportal\/sla_transfer4.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Figure 6. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"\/mrcjava\/servlet\/CUSTPORTAL.M01300s\" target=\"_blank\">This<\/a> application is where the signed SLA must be securely uploaded<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 3: Receive &amp; Implement New License<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once your SLA has been uploaded and reviewed by the appropriate staff, it will be signed and processed by the appropriate personal at mrc. Once this happens, the new license file will be sent to your email, along with instructions on how to implement these new m-Power\/mrc-PS license files.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-info\">For future reference, any signed SLA agreements associated with this license transfer process will be accessible from your Customer Portal in the Account Overview -> <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mrc-productivity.com\/mrcjava\/servlet\/CUSTPORTAL.I01300s\" target=\"_blank\">Signed Documents<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Overview This documentation will provide explanation on how m-Power Customers may initiate an m-Power or mrc-Productivity Series license transfer via their Customer Portal.
