Convert MS SQL DateTime field to Date
MS SQL only uses DATE/TIME stamp fields. This purpose of this UDF is to extract the date from the Date/Time stamp and create a new field, logically, that just prints the date.
This function will only work on MS SQL servers. As the code is currently written, it will output the data in MM/DD/YYYY format. If other formats are desired, please replace the ?101? in the code with the necessary value listed at this resource under the ?Date and Time? Style Heading: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms187928.aspx If you display your date as MM/DD/YYYY, please remember that sorting & ranges will not behave as intended, as your output is simply a character field. Instead, choose an YYYY/MM/DD format.
