Ticket #29455
Question
We would like to validate login attempts using a custom Java object. How would we go about doing this? Could the Active Directory implementation (https://www.mrc-productivity.com/docs/security/implementing-security#ldap) be used to pass the username and password to the Java object and return whether it is valid or not?
Answer
Unfortunately we don't have a built-in method that can support what you are looking for, which is to validate user login via an external Java program. We allow you to call external logic via an SQL program after sign on and before sign off, but this is once the user has already signed in and is already through the door (https://www.mrc-productivity.com/docs/security/auditing-m-power-login-activity) and likely not sufficient for your purposes. If implementing a solution that allows calling an external program for login validation is a high priority for Boone County moving forward, you may elect to sponsor our development team to integrate this as an available option. If interested, let us know and we can provide a quote.
