Ticket #29467
We ran into an issue for a few hours where emails this morning would not go out and they all had this error message in the logs: EmailSSL:126 - Could not convert socket to TLS javax.mail.MessagingException: Could not convert socket to TLS; nested exception is: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: server certificate change is restricted during renegotiation at com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPTransport.startTLS(SMTPTransport.java:1907) Could I get some additional information as to what may have caused this error?
As this is not an m-Power specific error, I did some searching online and it seems this could indicate that for some reason your SMTP server was now expecting a secure TLS connection and subsequently these email requests via SSL were rejected. I don't know if it's possible that any configuration changes were touched or tested during this time on the mail server, however something that may be worthwhile to verify. I've also seen mentions on many different forums of possible conflictions with anti-virus software firewalls blocking the necessary handshake from happening. As this issue only happened in a four hour period, I'd find it less likely that to be the case, but I figured it's still worth mentioning granted the issue continues to happen moving forward.
