Ticket #30898
Question
I have a Report that when I run it in my browser, the data is just as I'd expect. When the same Report runs through a task, the data output is not the same however. Can you help me understand why this is happening?
Answer
The issue upon investigation was the URL parameters that the report was using behind the scenes when ran interactively were not matching up to the URL parameters that were getting passed to the report in the task execution. This was causing two different outputs of the same report. Discussed the idea of the 'run' parameter that is used in the Regular Report to bypass the prompt screen, and control the desired output levels (detail, subtotal, grand total) in a report application. https://www.mrc-productivity.com/docs/reports/bypassing-the-prompt-page-in-reports-via-url-parameters. Once he adjusted his 'run' parameter and specified the appropriate output levels of the report that were desired in his task, his emailed report contained the results he was expecting to see.
