A few years ago, we published this Custom Template in our Project Exchange, allowing users the ability to have Fixed Column Headings in a standard report template. The power of this Custom Template is that it allows the column headings of a table to remain in the browser’s viewport no matter how far down the user scrolls within their data set. While this template has been a popular download, often times customers have asked ask us how they can implement the same functionality across any application type. The brief set of instructions below will walk you through adding the Fixed Header to your application:
After compiling your application, open m-Painter and add the following code directly before the </head> tag within Source view:
Step 2: Declaring the table you wish to “Fix”
Step 3: Declaring the Table Header row.
Within source, find this text: “<!– BEGIN_TEXT_TABLE_HEADER –>” Directly before this text add “<thead>”
Within source, find this text: “<!– END_SORT_TABLE_HEADER –>” Directly after this text add “</thead>”
