How To Install a Navigation Bar

m-Power now has the ability of rendering your menu options directly within your data dictionary’s header as a navigation bar. The benefit of this feature is an improved user interface. You will need to install the December 2012 update to take advantage of this new feature. If you are creating menus for the first time, after taking the December 2012 update, the first three steps will be done for you by m-Power, so skip to step 4.
Step 1: In the server where m-power is installed, go to: /m-power/mrcjava/mrcclasses/
Step 2: Find the file: mrcmenu-for-appheader.html
This is the HTML page with the code for the navigation bar and menus. This page is fully editable, feel free to customize this page to match your needs.
Step 3: Copy the file to: /m-power/mrcjava/WEB-INF/classes/DICTIONARY
Where DICTIONARY is the name of your dictionary.
Step 4: Go to  Admin, click Edit Data Dictionary Files, click Servlet Properties.
Step 5: Click the “Show Header File” option in the Program Options tab. Click Accept.

Step 6: Still in Edit Data Dictionary Files, click Header File.
Step 7: Inside the text editor got to the end of the code. Click between the lines:

</div>
<!-- End mrc Default Header -->

Type:

${headerMenu}

This parameter will hold the menus to be displayed in the application. It should look like this:

</div>
${headerMenu}
<!-- End mrc Default Header -->

The functionality is now ready. You will see your menu options rendered in all the application within that dictionary.

Note: After implementing this functionality, if you modify or add new menu options, you will need to restart your browser for your changes to take effect. To be more efficient m-power caches the menus into the browser, requiring restarting to load the new menus.
