Just last week I was at a client site where they asked me if there was a way to create barcodes within m-Power. While the functionality does not currently exist, their request was certainly doable. They were interested in creating a retrieval that included a database field which contained barcode data. Once the application has been accessed, they wanted to be able to quickly scan on-hand inventory from the screen, and also have the ability to print out the barcodes to access at a later date.
After some research, I discovered a Barcode jQuery plugin (more information can be found here). Instead of having the client write complicated back-end logic, I was able to extend the built-in functionality of m-Power by utilizing this powerful jQuery library.

After you have downloaded and installed this template, please remember that you must indicate to m-Power which field should be used to plot your barcode. You can do this in the Field settings screen by adding *BARCODE to the appropriate field description.
