Local Database Connections with V6R1
Both m-Power and mrc-Productivity Series customers have the ability to utilize a Local Database Connection if running their software off of an AS400.
m-Power customers can see this connection by going to Data Dictionary –> Edit Data Dictionary Files –> Data Source Configuration.
Classic Servlet customers can see this connection by going to Data Dictionary –> Edit Data Dictionary Files –> Classic Servlets –> Servlet Properties.
Note: This configuration must be modified slightly with IBM's V6R1. IBM has changed their logic slightly, and for increased security, they no longer allow a *LOCAL database connection without a username and password.
You must add a valid AS400 username and password to authenticate the database connection for the AS400.
- For m-Power customers, please place the username and password between the respective <value> and </value> tags.
- For Classic Servlet customers, please place the username and password between the respective " " on the servlet properties page.
Please note:
Classic Servlet customers will need to modify the Sign On screen file, where connection information is stored. Additionally, Classic Servlet customers must modify these two files for each and every data dictionary they are utilizing.
