Updating Your Production Server After Recent MRCCH
Situation: You are developing your mrc applications on your AS400 but serve them from a different physical Windows server. You are doing this to separate production and development environments. Plus, you realize that running applications on a Windows server will be much more efficient and quicker to your end user, especially for graphing and PDF creation.
The Problem: You have recently taken an MRCCH but have no idea how to incorporate those changes to your Windows server.
The Solution: Below is a short list of what you need to do to ensure all necessary updates are carried out to your Windows (production) server.
- Download and apply MRCCH to AS400.
- Stop Tomcat on your production server.
- Copy and transfer the contents of the /mrcjava/WEB-INF/lib directory to your Windows directory (mrcjava\WEB-INF\lib). This accomplishes transferring the newly updated servlet logic for your production instance.
- Copy and transfer the contents of the /mrcjava/mrcclasses directory to your Windows directory (mrcjava\mrcclasses). This accomplishes transferring any newly updated Javascript or other files that control the look of your application.
- Start Tomcat on your production server.
