One Click Data View

Included with m-Power beginning with the September 7th, 2011 version, the One Click Data View feature allows developers to take a sneak peak at their data with the push of a single button! Prior to this feature, developers who were unfamiliar with certain tables in their environment were forced to do the following:

  • Read countless pages of documentation from their database vendor.
  • Ask a colleague for advice as to in which tables their data can be found.
  • Blindly build retrievals over every table in their environment they thought might apply to them so they could see the data within.

To utilize this feature, navigate to the Admin section, then to Registered Tables. Find the "Data" column, and click on the magnifying glass to bring up a view of the live data that resides in the table for which you clicked.

Once clicked, a new window will appear that will allow you to view, sort, and search through the live data within this single table.

Note: The library/schema and table name will be displayed above the dataset.

Alternatively, m-Power gives you the ability to view your dataset while building your application. During table selection, simply click on the "View Table" icon next to any table listed to see the live data that resides within that table.

Note: This feature is designed to allow developers to view the contents of one table at a time. If you would like to see the contents of multiple tables joined together, please consider creating a retrieval or an SQL View to achieve this.
